Descriptions of the funding available from the different sources
follow.
Only one application is required. Individuals eligible for multiple funding
sources will be considered for all appropriate opportunities via that single
application. Applications are due 15 September 2007 by email to
chapman-help@agu.org.
- The NASA Mars Program Office has announced that travel funding will be
made available for as many as 5 students who are U.S. citizens, with
Mars-related interests, to attend the conference. An application must be
submitted by 15 September 2007 to be considered for this funding. NASA
Headquarters will make the selections and students will be notified no
later than October 20, 2007.
Reimbursable costs include transportation (airfare, mileage to/from
airport, parking, rental car) and lodging/per diem. In most cases, actual
expenses will exceed the funding provided. Travel costs up to $1000.00
will be reimbursed according to JPL/government-specified allowances. For
reference, hotel/per diem rates can be found at www.gsa.gov (see per
diem).
Eligibility:
    - Students must be U.S. citizens
    - Students must be enrolled at a university at the time of
the conference or the semester immediately following the conference
(if during break).
Students wishing to apply for this assistance must submit the travel
funding application form by email to chapman-help@agu.org 15 September
2007.
Interested students with questions are encouraged to contact Charles

- The NASA Mars Fundamental Research Program has awarded funds to
support travel for approximately 14 individuals to attend the conference.
An application must be submitted by 15 September 2007 to be considered for
this funding. Scientists who currently receive Mars Program funds are
ineligible for these funds. A subset of the Program Committee will make
the selections based on need, potential contribution to the meeting, and
potential benefit for the individual. Recipients will be notified no
later than October 20, 2007.
Reimbursable costs include transportation (airfare, mileage to/from
airport, parking, rental car), registration, actual meal costs with
receipts, and lodging. Travel costs will be reimbursed according to
Catholic University of America's specified allowances. Reimbursable
costs should not exceed $3000 for foreign travelers and $1750 for domestic
travelers.
