However, the fgl is available if you need it. > > "I located 3 VC files that contained spin fit data from TH-E, 2008-03-09. > They came from ground stations BGS, WLP, and UHI. The BGS and WLP > data contained no gaps. The UHI telemetry file contained 32 frames > with uncorrectable Reed-Solomon errors. After discarding the > uncorrectable frames, the packet extraction process logged 34 frame > sequence errors, with a total of 298 missing frames. 6 spin fit (410) > packets were interrupted by frame dropouts, discarded, and logged. > Other apids were similarly > affected: 440, 448, 451, 455, 457, 458, 45a, 45d, and 45e. The > number of logged packet dropouts exactly matched the number of frame > sequence errors, as expected. > > The apid of a dropped packet can only be logged if we get enough of > the packet header to determine the apid. There were undoubtedly many > more dropped packets that started in one of the 298 missing frames, so > they never got logged. > > I think this completely explains the data gaps. > Operations ================ +Mar 17 USNAU_13M THEMIS_C 9.500 2008/077 15:23:00 2008/077 15:53:00 TR9 # Data dump [LC] - expect drop in link margin 15:40-15:43 - frame sequence errors - dumped VC1 only MILA_9M2 THEMIS_C 9.500 2008/077 16:32:10 2008/077 16:52:15 TR10 # Data dump [LC] - upload IDPU FSW 0x4B patch after data dump - ICCR_DOP055 USNAU_13M THEMIS_A 9.100 2008/077 17:10:20 2008/077 17:40:20 TR9 # Data dump [ME] - frame sequence errors - dumped VC1 and VC3 despite errors - lost 3,500 out of 50,000 VC3 frames AGO_9M THEMIS_B 9.600 2008/077 17:16:10 2008/077 17:46:10 TR10 # Data dump [ME] - upload IDPU FSW 0x4B patch after data dump - ICCR_DOP055 BGS_11M THEMIS_E 9.200 2008/077 18:14:05 2008/077 18:33:00 TR10 # Data dump [ME] - note LOS time changed BGS_11M THEMIS_A 9.500 2008/077 18:47:00 2008/077 19:02:00 TR3 # SOH check and track [ME] - WS1 Doppler testing - hand-over from BGS to WS1 at 18:52:00 until LOS - test successful BGS_11M THEMIS_C 9.500 2008/077 23:00:00 2008/077 23:20:00 TR2 # SOH check and track [JM] - first test of automated SST attenuator motions - outbound leg of orbit - successful test MILA_9M2 THEMIS_E 2.620 2008/077 23:31:45 2008/077 23:51:45 TR2 # SOH check and track - mutual interference with THA at BGS BGS_11M THEMIS_A 2.510 2008/077 23:35:15 2008/077 23:55:15 TR2 # SOH check and track - mutual interference with THE at MILA + Mar 21 USNAU_13M THEMIS_A 9.600 2008/081 16:43:00 2008/081 17:10:00 TR9 # Data dump [JM] - engineering support to verify performance of Cortex XL after upgrade - dumped VC1 and VC3 error free BGS_11M THEMIS_B 9.900 2008/081 21:45:35 2008/081 22:05:35 TR3 # SOH check and track [ME] - WS1 Doppler testing - hand-over from BGS to WS1 at 21:50 - 22:04 - no downlink seen at WS1 BGS_11M THEMIS_A 9.900 2008/081 23:21:20 2008/081 23:41:20 TR3 # SOH check and track [ME] - WS1 Doppler testing - hand-over from BGS to WS1 at 23:25 - 23:40 - test successful Science ========= +16th Mar Event identified in previous report +17 Mar 09 UT AE 300 minor dipolarisation, flows on C to 400 km/s, poleward moving auroral forms +18 Mar 0330-0900 UT AE 800, multiple clear dipolarisations visible on A, D and E, plasma sheet to energetic to get good flow moments +19 Mar Spacecraft in inner magnetosphere when large AE observed +20 Mar 12:00 UT AE 800, dipolarisation, flow burst to 400 km/s, abrupt apperance of energetic particles, event observed from all s/c. +21 Mar 07:00 UT-11 UT, AE to 600, dipolarisaation on B with broadband LF waves, flows to 400 km/s +22 Mar 08:00 UT AE 500, dipolarisations (several), breakup visible in keogram, flows to 300 km/s +23 Mar 06:00 ,08:00,10:00 UT AE to 400, dipolarisations with each AE peak, breakup arc in keograms with the first.
