This is the third and final announcement for the RHESSI-SOHO-TRACE workshop on flares and CMEs, to be held in Sonoma, California Dec. 8-11, 2004. Please see the workshop home page at http://rhessi-soho-trace.org, which lists the working groups and describes their objectives. The working-group structure has changed slightly since the second circular, and the program has evolved accordingly. The deadline for early registration is October 18, 2004, and the registration fee can be paid via credit card if desired. The early registration fee is $300, which includes several of the meals. After the October 15 deadline, the fee will rise to $350. For students (pre-doctoral) the fee is $100.
We would like to encourage partipation from the heliospheric community, including those interested in solar energetic particles (SEPs), especially considering the fortuitous occurrence of the October-November 2003 events as observed well by many spacecraft, some inadvertently. These observations provide our best opportunity yet to understand the relationship between solar and interplanetary high-energy processes.
The workshop takes place just prior to the AGU meeting in San Francisco. Sonoma is near San Francisco, and access is easy from San Francisco or Oakland airports. The meeting site is a lovely setting in the California wine country. The sessions end at noon on Saturday, and we have an opportunity to spend the afternoon touring wineries.
