aper Title: The loop top rightness of the thermal flare Author List: U. Feldman Abstract: I propose to introduce issues concerning shapes and brightness of 107 K thermal flare loops. In particular the observations that show that during the early stages of flares loops containing the 107 K thermal plasma appear to be taller than wider where the loop section with the smallest radius or curvature appears to be located at the vicinity of the loop top. As flares evolve loop footpoints separation appear to increase at a larger rate than their height resulting in an ever-decreasing height to width ratio. As the loop evolves and become flatter the section with the smallest radius of curvature that originally was confined to the loop top also evolves and spreads. Observations indicate that during the early stages of flare lifetimes the brightest parts of loops are confined to those sections having the smallest radius of curvatures. Poster: No
