Note that the internal labeling style recommended below does not work for
actual file names, just the TeX labeling. Call your files what you want
but be systematic and label them by author please, so we can track down
malefactors.

Conventions for TeX input for the RHESSI monograph

Internal labeling styles:

\label{fig:emslie_fig1} and corresponding \ref{}
\label{sec:emslie_sec1} " "
\label{eqn:emslie_eqn1} " "

Indexing aids

\index{X}                Insert this with X = something like "Dimming"
                         that you'd like to be indexed, wherever needed
                         (capital letter but no quotes in the call).

The flare list

\index{Flare (individual)!2002-04-21 X1.5}
\index{Flare (individual)!2002-04-21 X1.5!illustration}

Here the "!" causes the indexing program to indent. We think that this
year-month-day date style should work. The GOES class is for more info
but also to help eliminate ambiguities.

You can make a chapter-level index using Makeindex, as illustrated in 
the style files.
