Title: Multiwavelength analysis of flaring active regions during the pre-event phase Author_list: Zuccarello, F., Contarino, L., Romano, P. Abstract: In previous works we have studied the role played by phenomena like cancelling magnetic features and magnetic helicity transport in eruptive prominences. These works were carried out using both ground based (THEMIS, BBSO, Catania Astrophysical Observatory) and space (TRACE, MDI/SOHO, YOHKOH) data. We have analysed these data using specific software which allowed us to determine the physical parameters relevant to the phenomena from the image analysis, to measure the rate of emergence of magnetic flux, to determine the magnetic helicity injected in corona by horizontal flows and, using the Local Correlation Tracking technique, to determine the horizontal velocity fields (Contarino et al. 2003; Romano et al., 2003a; Romano et al., 2003 b). We plan to utilize these methodologies to study the pre-event phase in active regions indicated in Working Group 1. Contarino L., Romano P., Zuccarello F.
