From our Team telecon Wednesday, Jul 10, 2002: * Project items for IMPACT - Current issues: Project had a follow-up to CR with the Independent Review Team on June 28. No show stoppers. - Schedule/Meetings: IMPACT CDR has been scheduled for Nov 20-22 (date shift!) - Spacecraft: Design is assumed frozen as of June. Send any concerns to Dave Curtis. Thermal blanket coatings and boom details still in work. - Data: Project has advised the instruments about expected data/telemetry gaps, to be addressed via retransmissions. - Budget: New contract has been signed off - Project continues spacecraft coordination meetings on thursdays. Spacecraft update is on the agenda this Thursday (contact Dave if you would like the call-in number). * Instruments - Please check peer review schedule for the summer at http://sprg.ssl.berkeley.edu/impact/dwc (under Peer Reviews link). Several SEP software reviews, a STE and SWEA door review, and IDPU review are in July - Davin and Keith Ogilvie are working with APL to evaluate thermal blanket coatings for SWEA conductivity requirement - Mario conducted a third magnetic cleanliness workshop at APL on June 13 '02. He has done some tests of spacecraft components and will be working with Project on compensation magnets. Reaction wheels matter still to be addressed. - Thermal model updates due in July - There are currently weekly or biweekly SEP telecons on Thursdays, and periodic BOOM and IDPU meetings at UCB. All-team telecons are now once/month: 2002 IMPACT Wed. telecons, provisional dates -------------------------------------------- Aug 7, Sep 11, Oct 9, Nov 6, Dec(team meeting 11th?) - All IMPACT PDR action items (RFAs) should be closed - Boom Design: Needs mechanical prototype by CDR Project (APL) wants a smaller model - PAIP and configuration management plan still need some revisions (ESTEC part is outstanding) - Phase B Progress Report information will be collected by Dave prior to the 15th of each month. * Other - The Data Plan telecon was held on July 3. An outline and writing assignments will be passed out by Peter Schroeder (peters@ssl.berkeley.edu) soon.
