* Project items for IMPACT

- Current issues: CDR final preparations. 
  New IMPACT instrument manager@GSFC after CDR
  is Lil Reichenthal (lreichen@pop700.gsfc.nasa.gov)

- Schedule/Meetings: 
  IMPACT CDR has been scheduled for Nov 20-22 
  at a location near GSFC. ALL TEAM MEMBERS ATTENDING CDR
  NEED TO REGISTER- Contact Dave or Janet if you have not
  received a form to fill out. Mission CDR has been
  delayed until Feb 18-21 '03. SWAVES CDR has been
  delayed until Feb. '03. SECCHI CDR in progress this week.
  PLASTIC CDR scheduled immediately preceding IMPACT CDR.

  Project continues spacecraft coordination meetings
  on Thursdays. Check APL website for presentations.

- Spacecraft: Design is assumed frozen with minor
	      exceptions. Early vs. late boom deployment
	      is under discussion. Reaction wheels have been
	      selected from batch screened for Messenger.

- Budget: New contract has been signed off


* Instruments


- All Peer Reviews done except SIT door. Boom
  Peer Review completed on 10/29. 

- Thermal model updates needed by CDR

_ Parts lists updates needed by CDR

- Schedule and Resource updates needed by CDR

- All IMPACT PDR action items (RFAs) should be closed
  by CDR

- Ground strap design being done by Paul Turin
  at UCB.

- Glint issues related to edges of solar panels
  in FOVs still a project and IMPACT concern. Discussion
  continues at IMPACT telecons on Tuesdays
  (Tuesday telecon canceled this week due to SECCHI CDR)

- SWEA Engineering Model arrived at SSL
  Thermal blanket coatings for SWEA conductivity
  requirement still under discussion. For information

- Boom Design: Mechanical prototype now exists.
  Rings Glue has been cold tested. Deployment
  mechanism has been tried out. Test plan is in work.
  Contamination test at UCB on 11/7

- Mario led another STEREO Project Magnetics
  Workshop discussion on Oct 31. Latch valve is
  still an issue of concern. Shielding is under
  consideration. Compensation magnets still
  need to be located on spacecraft. Reaction
  wheel fields now known.

- There are currently weekly or biweekly SEP telecons
  on Thursdays, and periodic BOOM and IDPU meetings at UCB. 
  All-team telecons are now once/month:

  Dec telecon cancelled due to team meeting Dec 11

- Phase B Progress Report information will be collected
  by Dave prior to the 15th of each month.

* Other

- Peter Schroeder (peters@ssl.berkeley.edu) completed
  the Data Management Plan draft, due at CDR

- preliminary IMPACT "Users Manual" due at CDR.

  download- as a STEREO in-situ prototype set- at the URL
