From our Team telecon Wednesday, September 13: * Project items for IMPACT - The Phase A Cost Report was submitted August 31. There may be delays in starting Phase B as Project attempts to deal with these reports. We anticipate a no-cost extension will be needed on Oct 31 to continue work. - Dave Curtis will interact with hardware contributors to come up with optimal plans for our extended, reduced level of Phase B effort during 2001. We have not yet received any formal response to our Phase A cost proposal, or any directive for revising (and formalizing) our budget. - Meetings to note: Next meeting at GSFC/APL includes a Ground System Req. Review (Oct 4) and possible followup Independent Assessment Team Review informal session to close out Phase A questions. Dave Curtis will submit a draft presentation for IMPACT this week. The expected "Peer review" meetings for IMPACT are not yet rescheduled. - ITAR: LOAs are still with NASA's legal dept. TAA's are in work at JHUAPL. Several ITAR-related panels and studies are in progress at NASA, NRC, to assess ITAR's impact on space research. * Instruments - SEP needs to resolve remaining FOV issues and bracket design issues with APL on the redesigned spacecraft (Tycho) - Project says HET decision to be made in beginning of Phase B - Project wants to know about developments on ESC design (Keith, Davin) - APL wants more details on I&T requirements. Please provide input to Dave Curtis on request * Other - Tycho will support Contamination Committee activities for IMPACT - Dave Curtis still needs to know what was spent during Phase A and Bridge by GSFC team members (533s type information) for the record ******************************************* IMPORTANT DATES Oct 4 Ground System Requirements Review at APL Oct 31 End of Phase A + Bridge Dec 12 next IMPACT team meeting at UCB SSL Dec 13-14 STEREO SWG at UCB SSL ******************************************* Websites to Check periodically for updates http://sprg.ssl.berkeley.edu/impact http://sprg.ssl.berkeley.edu/impact/dwc https://sd-forum.jhuapl.edu/stereo/
