UVI Observations of Saturn and the Moon

2003-09-09: Stars and Uranus(?)

Here is another star field. The three stars in our catalog are

An interesting not about this time is that the Virtual Telescope also shows that Uranus is in the FOV near star HD 210424. It's not readily apparent in the UVI image. Uranus' magnitude is +5.7 (according to JPL's ephemeris generator) and is not a strong UV source (an order of magnitude dimmer than Saturn). There is no boresight correction applied to this image.

Below are IUE spectra for both HD 210424 and Uranus. They show that Uranus should be overwhelmed by the star.
