Research

I have a number of research interests in the area of solar and stellar astrophysics. In the pages that follow, I have organized my research projects into more general categories, and have provided a (very) brief discussion of each project (along with some figures and illustrations) followed by a link to an article or two that I have authored (or co-authored) that discusses a specific project in more detail.

  • Active Region Magnetic Fields in the Solar Interior
  • Convection and Magneto-convection in Rotating Stars
  • The Emergence of Magnetic Flux into the Solar Corona
  • Solar and Stellar Flares
  • Space Weather Modeling and Coronal Mass Ejections
  • To obtain additional scientific articles on these (and many other) topics, check out the NASA Astrophysics Data System, a free, easy-to-use database/library that allows you to quickly search through physics and astronomy literature and obtain articles of interest on specific research topics.
