Below are links to MPEG movies of the H-alpha line profile variations for several Classical T Tauri stars. See the description of the movie for SU Aur to find out how the movies were generated. All the data used to construct these movies was collected at Lick Observatory (pictured above).

More recently, a student, Silvia Alencar, has been working with Gibor Basri and myself to examine correlations between the variations of lines formed at different places in the circumstellar environment of Classical T Tauri stars. To begin with, comparison between the H-alpha line (formed throughout the largest volume arround the star) and the Ca II 8498 Angstrom line (whose profile matches well those expected from magnetospheric accretion flows - see Hartmann et al. 1994).
