Red, White, Black & Blue

A (Th)ink Anthology

by Keith Knight

Keith Knight is the author of the hilarious and biting K Chronicles, an "alternative" comic strip that appears in many, but not as many as it should, newspapers and websites. Along the way somewhere, he began creating his single-panel (Th)ink comics that now appear in as many, or more, publications than the former. Here, Knight has to compress his humor to a one-liner, as sharp a joke as he can get in just one panel. If you're a fan of the K Chronicles, reading (Th)ink can demonstrate just how hard it is to compress humor like this. The result is somewhat uneven, but Knight pulls it off most of the time. There are 121 comics in this collection. Knight's trademark humor is always biting, political and often racial in its content. These panels can make the reader think. As a book, it may be a quick read. One can turn back to it for a quick laugh at any time. Some of the humor is topical and even already somewhat dated. In twenty years, it will make a great commentary on our present era. Or, more pathetically, and often noted by its author, in twenty years so little will have changed.
