Example of RHESSI observations of one of the events
IMAGING: statistics limit imaging. for
the shown event, RHESSI can produce 7" resolution images easily, if we
integrate over the whole flare duration. for smaller events
that can be less.
the images shown below are from TRACE
(pre-event background subracted). the candence is not very good,
so I show two TRACE images, one before the RHESSI flare, one after.
The RHESSI contours are taken inbetween.
TRACE observes some kind of a jet. a trace movie is here:

SPECTRA: spectral fitting is often
difficult. the shown spectrum is fitted with a thermal spectrum
at low energies plus a
non-thermal (power law) spectrum at higher energies. This allows to
estimate thermal and non-thermal flare energies. the fitted temperature
is around 12 MK with an emission measure of 5e46cm^-3. the power
low is rather soft with a slope of -5.1. values above 20 keV
are not significant.
