OVERVIEW: GOES & RHESSI

thick shutter comes in around 17:09 UT, decimation change around 17:19 UT.

the same with livetime:

the same with 2.223 MeV (counts per 4 seconds):

IP radio and insitu electrons at 1 AU (WIND/3DP):

IMAGING

pointing again not perfect for some times of the flare.

TRACE/EIT/SXI and RHESSI

TRACE has a data gap between 17:12 and 17:35 UT.

EIT images after 17:12 are saturated.

SXI has about 1 minute cadence with about half of the images saturated.

EIT, TRACE, and SXI images with RHESSI contours around 17:12 UT

SXI images with RHESSI contours around 17:12-17:19 UT

decay

all images shown above are with grid 3 and higher (clean beam of 9.7" FWHM)

grid 2 shows more details of the footpoints (clean beam of 5.6" FWHM), grid 1 does not show a clear source

footpoint motions

clear footpoint motion is seen during the main peak in the northern footpoint (up to 90 km/s). for the southern footpoint the motion is less clear, the source also seems to be elongated.

plot shows centroid positions of the two main HXR sources from images with grid 3 and higher. color and symbol size represent time. Footpoint separation is decreasing.
