NEW (September 10): program

Objectives of Group 1:

We plan to select a small number of impulsive electron events seen at 1 AU and try to find their solar origin and try to reconstruct the geometry of the event by comparing data at various wavelengths.

  • Dissusion on recent results of timing studies (Krucker et al. 1999, Haggerty & Roelof 2002, Simnett et al. 2003, Cane 2003):
  • Correlation studies with observations at different wavelenghts:

A list of impulsive electron events is being selected at the moment.

Event selection criteron: impulsive electron events seen by ACE and WIND with a GOOD RHESSI coverage.

here is a first version of this list: version may 1, 2003

    Organizational Strategy:

We (Dennis and Sa"m) are selecting events at the moment. We are planning to finalize the event list be the end of April, but leave it open to add future events.

Participants of group 1 are asked to sent a short statement to the group leaders saying how they would like to contribute to this session. On the basis of these summaries, we ask some participants to show their work in detail. We will also invite some people and asked them to work on specific data sets or lead specific discussions. A group website will be established to post the proposed participant contributions.
