    My Interests

    I wouldn't be a true physicist if I weren't interested in all sorts of physics topics. A few of us, when I was at UAF, taught ourselves Tensor Analysis and General Relativity. I am very interested, though not so knowledgeable, about superstring theory (also see a Caltech superstring tutorial) and other such quantum-general relativity theories.

    There are a few sports that I really enjoy: down-hill skiing and ultimate frisbee and I have just learned the beauty of walking with snow shoes in the winter! I hope to down-hill ski lots now that I'm only a few hours from ski mountains. I'm not a die-hard frisbee fan. Especially not like those of you who play five times a week and hold a 40-60 hour job. I do enjoy the sport, however, and try to make it to Potlatch, my favorite tournament, every year. Check out the pictures we got as presents (jpg's from a video camera and laptop!) from a team we played: THANKS for such a great gift!

    I walked on snow-shoes in the winter of 1999 into Tolovana Hot Springs and now I'm a convert. Snow-shoes are the way to go in the winter!! Maybe good mountaineering skiis, boots and bindings would be just as enjoyable, but I can't seem to find the energy to love cross country skiing like my friends in Alaska...

    And I'm a firm believer that if we are going to keep a democracy, we have to participate in it. Which means, I suppose, that I'm interested in politics. Although, interested may not be the best word to describe my feeling about politics. Perhaps it would be better to say that I feel being interested in politics is a necessary annoyance. If we want to ensure the kind of free life that we are currently living and would like to live, then we have to be involved in politics. Hey, and if you don't believe in voting because you do not like any of the candidates - there are other choices and you can write them in! So, go get registered to vote!

    While listening to my music one day, I started listening closely to the words of a Jello Biafra song. Then I decided they were worthy of writing down. If you're interested in CURFEWS, then take a look! And if you are interested, sometimes
