There are several ways to go about writing a nugget but first, we would like to
stress that
we do not recommend the use of programs such as Microsoft Word to
create webpages. Your nugget needs to be placed within
this webpage. Making a nugget compatible with this webpage takes time and effort.
This time and effort is dramatically increased by the use of programs such as
Microsoft Word! If you normally edit files with this software be sure to save the
file as
plain text or just copy and text into the HTML
templates we provide. To
summarize, please follow #1 if are using Word (or other similar programs).
Depending on your knowledge of HTML, please choose the method which suits you.
1. If you do not know how to write your own HTML, ask a friend for help
in technical matters such as creating links to interesting related
pages.
Cut and paste your own text into one of our templates, as described
below.
Attach your figures to an e-mail and send us the works.
2. If you know a little HTML and would like to see the pages more or less
as they will appear:
first, create a directory;
then copy the RHESSI nugget style sheet into
this directory.
Copy this simple nugget template
and use it for markup.
You'll need to save this from the "view source" menu item on your browser (if you do
not know what this means, go to step 1).
Note that figures and movies should go in a subdirectory named "images".
Finally, attach the entire directory to an e-mail message, or if it is
bigger than 10MB, put it online temporarily and
tell us
where it is.
3. If you're comfortable with HTML, download the
full template along with the style sheet which must be placed in the same
directory.
Image files should be in a web readable format (.jpg, .gif, or .png). Movies should
normally be in .mpg format for ease of distribution. Again,
we do not recommend "save as HTML" from Microsoft Word (or other similar
programs); if you normally edit with this software be sure to save the file as
plain text or just copy and paste into an email (preferred).
