Tohban report for Sept 16-22, 2003 Solar activity was generally low with 1 M-class flare (a long-lived event; RHESSI saw the peak, but not the rise phase) and ~20 mostly small C-class flares. Memory management was problematic with SSR level in the range 20-50% over the week. The main drivers were the long-lived M1.3 flare on Sept 16, particle events and the loss of some Wallops contacts due to Hurricane Isabel. The decimation state began at Normal/Normal, but was changed to Normal/Active on Sept 17 at 225457 and then to Active/Vigorous on the 19th when we continued to lose ground with the SSR. There were 3 significant ~3 hour VC3 data gaps Sept 16-20, two of which were associated with Santiago passes, one with a noisy Wallops pass. File recovery efforts are underway.
