RHESSI Tohban report, 17-Sept-2004 to 23-Sept-2004 Hugh Hudson (hhudson@ssl.berkeley.edu) 1. Solar Activity: Activity was quite low, ending the week with only a single numbered active region, and a rather boring one at that. However there was a nice M-class flare and particle event on September 19. RHESSI observed about ten minutes' worth of the impulsive phase, but not above 100 keV; according to Sa"m we then missed some more of the hard X-ray event because of night. How many GOES flares occurred? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 32 8 1 0 And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 9 5 1 0 And how many had EXCELLENT coverage? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 5 3 0 0 There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 43 / 41 over the time range 17-Sep-04 25-Sep-04 2. Memory Management: Back under control, dropping to below 30% at the conclusion of the Berkeley passes. 3. Operations: Spin rate approacheth 14.4 rpm. Ought we not increase it? 4. Other A. Steven's new tool, tohban info at a glance, is now linked on http://sprg.ssl.berkeley.edu:80/~tohban/ I've been using it but not to the exclusion of other things. Please have a try and provide feedback to him. It has many clickable links but has suffered this week because of a long EIT bakeout sequence. B. I have colored my GOES_RHESSI plots somewhat and when I can figure out how IDL colors work properly, I will fill them neatly in and otherwise tidy up. I have now included both GOES spacecraft for the low channel, so that eclipse gaps (currently happening for GOES 12) are filled in. 5. Next week's tohban: Paula Balciunaite
