RHESSI Tohban report, February 14, 2005 to February 22, 2005 Amir Caspi (cepheid@ssl.berkeley.edu) [1] Solar Activity Activity during the past week was mild, with 1 M-class flare that was barely covered by RHESSI (only ~5 minutes near the peak). There were also 12 C-class flares, only 1 of which received "excellent" RHESSI coverage (8 partials). 2 small active regions are rotating off the West limb, with no active regions predicted on the far side. Activity in the coming week should be quite low - great conditions for zero-spot studies! Output of HSI_TOHBAN_FLARE_COUNTER: How many GOES flares occurred? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 52 12 1 0 And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 19 8 1 0 And how many had EXCELLENT coverage? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 11 1 0 0 There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 56 / 65 over the time range 14-Feb-05 21-Feb-05 [2] Memory Management With the low activity, memory has been only a minimal issue. The SSR fill has finished the daily passes at 35% to 55% the entire week. The fill level is currently decreasing, and we should get down to low levels within a few days if activity remains low. The SSR is currently at ~15% full as of the pass on 22-Feb-2005 @ 07:22:40 UT. [3] Data Gaps Numerous gaps are present, outlined below. Most occured on 18-Feb-05 - Jim McTiernan is investigating. He suspects it is due to flagged Wallops passes that were processed separately from the rest of the data stream; we will know more later. The spacecraft was also spun up to just under 15.1 RPM. Next week's tohban: Abby Goodhue (agoodhue@ssl.berkeley.edu), in conjunction with Hugh Hudson (hhudson@ssl.berkeley.edu)
