Tohban report, 22-Aug-2005 to 29-Aug-2005 J.McTiernan, jimm@ssl.berkeley.edu 1. Solar Activity: Pretty active, the background GOES level is now in the low to mid B's, but was up near C level on 2005-08-23, and there were M-class flares, includiing 1 with gamma-rays. How many GOES flares occurred? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 24 11 4 0 And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 15 8 4 0 And how many had EXCELLENT coverage? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 10 3 1 0 There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 90 / 39 over the time range 21-Aug-05 28-Aug-05 Many of these RESSI "flares" look to be particle events. This is unusual, in order for a "flare' to be flagged in the presence of particles, there must be 90% of 12-25 kev counts in the front detectors, and a valid solar position. 2. Memory Managment: Decimation was increased to "active/vigorous" on August 23. And the front detectors are currently not collecting events during eclipse periods. 3. Data Gaps: In vc3 data: 2005-08-22T08:35:00.000 -- 2005-08-22T11:20:00.000
