Tohban report, 3-oct-2007 to 10-oct-07

1. Solar Activity: 

Astonishingly quiet. There was a B flare on October 5, which RHESSI
observed nicely (but was not entered in the catalog for no clear reason);
there was also an A flare on the 8th, which coincided closely with a
"rogue" SAA (ie, one at the end of the sequence, which caught the shutters
by surprise).

The very weak active region, 0972 (S06W46 10/10, no spots) did produce
GOES signatures during its life on the disk. These were, interestingly
enough, in the high channel rather than the low channel. GOES pundits
McTiernan, Schwartz, Hudson exchanged email notes about this.

2. Memory Managment:

It was hard for the tohban to tell, because the status page was not
functioning from Friday morning to Tuesday afternoon. Reading between the
lines of the BGS schedule page, this was because of THEMIS operations
activity. We may have lost some telemetry dumps, because memory was 17% at
end of day 10/9-10 UT.

There is a QL data gap on 10/7 (00:05-01:00) that does not correspond to 
any VC3 data gap, so this file may need to be reprocessed.  The gaps on 
10/6 were due to lost Wallops passes; the data are lost as they could not 
be replayed in time.
