RHESSI Tohban report, 09-Mar-2008 to 16-Apr-2008 Iain Hannah, hannah@ssl.berkeley.edu 1. Solar Activity Been very quiet (>A1 GOES level) and so did some quiet sun offpointing. There has been a very small high latitude active region AR10990 moving across the disk that produced an A3 (15/Apr) and B2 flare(16/Apr), both of which RHESSI missed, although the AR didn't change the flat-linning GOES background rate. A larger old cycle active region at low latitudes is about to rotate on the disk and so probably wise to stop quiet sunoffpointing. 2. Memory Management Down to 18.82% after last pass. Probably due to decimation mode in just now. 3. Data Gaps None or merit... 4. Shutter Experiment The shutter experiment was conducted for 6 orbits (1 hour of shutter in data with 24 thick shutter movements) before we decided to off point. It seems to have worked with very little change between what we got in the detectors during shutter out and in modes. It did seem to do something to pointing with SAS improving in some cases when the shutters went in!
