Solar Activity

Solar activity became relatively high in the later half of the week, producing 8 M-class flares and numerous C-class flares. There are currently 7 ARs on the disk, one of which is still in a beta-gamma-delta configuration. Stereo-B shows one AR that will rotate onto the disk in the next few days.

How many GOES flares occurred?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 1 46 8 0

And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 1 33 4 0

And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 1 12 3 0

There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 285 / 55 over the time range 04-Mar-14 11-Mar-14

Memory Management

SSR has been under control with max 31%. The decimation is still ACTIVE/VIGOROUS and we are still taking rear events at night, with no fronts.

Spacecraft Status

The cold plate 1 and 2 are at 118 (yellow) and 116K, trending as expected.

Data Gaps

No data gap

Detector issues

By March 10, the livetime of D6-front and D8-rear decreased down to 50% and 80%, respectively. Thresholds were changed as noted below (At the time of the commanding, the D6-front livetime was at around 10%).

The team decided to keep watching the detector status for another week. Albert suggests that, when the passes are at convenient times, we should start experimenting with the HV on D6 to see if the noise can be further reduced. Since D2 has segmented, lowering its threshold would be a possible action in the near future.
