Solar flare neutrons observed on the ground and in space

Suppose we could look at the sky with neutron-sensitive eyes. There wouldn't be too much to see. Free neutrons undergo beta decay with a lifetime of 880 s, so there are very few neutron sources close enough to give detectable signals at Earth.
