It's been pointed out that the Publisher (me) should not have been surprised to see a mismatch between the decimetric spikes and hard X-ray sources. This is documented in several places in the literature, e.g. in the excellent paper by Khan and Aurass (2009). And I remember my delight at noting that the nice 3D reconstructions by Paesold et al. [(http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2001A%26A...371..333P 2001]) confounded the idea that the radio sources would be located at the "reconnection" cusp.
