Solar Activity

Very quiet. One active region (11018) was visible for one day only. No GOES activity.

Memory Management

The SSR has ranged from a minimum of 18% to a maximum of 62%. This high level is due to fewer passes over the last week, as priority was given to the Shuttle mission. Current level is 42%. More passes have been added in coming days to alleviate the problem.

Spacecraft Operations

A spin-up is scheduled for tomorrow (spin rate currently 14.35).

Cold plate 2 temperature is at 98.8 K and continuing to trend upward.

Detector 1 HV was lowered by 6 steps and detector 6 HV was lowered by 4 steps this morning (May 27). Both remain segmented. It was noted that before the anneal, HV changes started to be needed for detectors that had not previously needed lowering. (Should we be worried again?)

The presence of a lot of data without any flares suggests that we are recording much noise. Dave will look at individual detector data to see if there are any particular culprits (detector 2?). The issue could be dealt with by raising thresholds, but this could lead to the loss of actual data occurring below threshold during flares. A decision on this will be made next week.

Data Gaps

GAPS IN APP_ID = 102 (VC3-MONITOR RATES) WITH PACKET RATE LT 30

The gaps on the 23rd were due to a dropped pass at Santiago. This data cannot be replayed.
