A number of monitor rate spikes for all detectors (and all type of rate) were reported for the week of 2011-03-16 to 2-11-03-22. Nothing similar has shown up for this past week. I have analyzed the spike of 2011-03-16/19:36 UT. This appears to be real, and not a consequence of bad telemetry, since for each detector (both segments) there is a decrease in live time corresponding to the spike in the rates. The spike does not show up in the regular detector count rates, except for an unusual jump in the front segment of detector #5. We'll keep working on this.

Solar Activity

Moderate activity. The GOES background level is hovering in the mid B range.

How many GOES flares occurred?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 15 17 3 0

And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 11 15 2 0

And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 10 11 0 0

There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 199 / 35 over the time range 22-Mar-11 29-Mar-11

RHESSI Operations

Decimation was normal/vigorous for the week. Both Front and Rear detector events are turned off during eclipses, except for 4 minutes before and after daytime. SSR fill is at 21.56% at the end of yesterday's passes. SSR fill is relatively high, averaging 30% daily. It might be a good idea to try Active/Vigorous decimation again.

Data Gaps

None. Due to a processing error, non-existent data gaps appeared for 2011-03-23, and 2011-03-24. The bug (which was due to a software change made in 2003!) is fixed and data is processing normally.

Other Issues

A number of monitor rate spikes for all detectors (and all type of rate) were reported for the week of 2011-03-16 to 2-11-03-22. Nothing similar has shown up for this past week. I have analyzed the spike of 2011-03-16/19:36 UT. This appears to be real, and not a consequence of bad telemetry, since for each detector (both segments) there is a decrease in live time corresponding to the spike in the rates. The spike does not show up in the regular detector count rates, except for an unusual jump in the front segment of detector #5. We'll keep working on this.
