Solar Activity

Activity was mostly weak this week, but is picking up, with an M class flare on 3-July, and an increase in GOES background from ~B3 to ~B6. There are 10 active regions on the disk, including a new small region, 11787, which produced the M1.5 flare. AR 11785, slightly to the west of 11787 is now a large beta-gamma-delta region, which may also produce some large flares.

How many GOES flares occurred?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 24 18 0 0

And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 15 11 0 0

And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 9 2 0 0

There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 182 / 42 over the time range 27-Jun-13 03-Jul-13
