Solar activity was low early this week, but it became active two days ago, producing 9 M-class flares. There are currently 9 active regions on the disk and AR11967 is the one that produced most of the M-class flares. It is still located on the eastern limb and remains active. However, STEREO B shows no significantly bright source that would rotate onto the disk next week.

Solar Activity

Solar activity was low early this week, but it became active two days ago, producing 9 M-class flares. There are currently 9 active regions on the disk and AR11967 is the one that produced most of the M-class flares. It is still located on the eastern limb and remains active. However, STEREO B shows no significantly bright source that would rotate onto the disk next week.

How many GOES flares occurred?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 8 19 9 0

And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 0 10 7 0

And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 0 3 4 0

There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 69 / 36 over the time range 22-Jan-14 29-Jan-14

Memory Management

SSR is not emptying out at the end of daily pass sets with Max 33% and Min 4 %. Last night pass ended at 16%.

Spacecraft Status

The cold plates 1 and 2 are at 119.2 K and 117.7 K, respectively. Cryocooler is nominal. Power is nominal. Spacecraft spin rate is 15.0 rpm.

Data Gaps

There was no significant data gap this week.

Detector issues

The D9 rear fast-LLD reached a high level so that the following change was made.

24-Jan-2014: The D9 rear fast LLD threshold was raised from 0x70 to 0x80 at 00:53:41 UTC.

The D9 front fast-LLD also reached a high level and the attenuator status stayed at Att-1. The following changes were made

The D6 front threshold was also changed because D6 front fast-LLD was also increasing.

The D6 and D9 front threshold will be raised another 0x10 next week. The D6 HV may also be lowered down.

Other notes

The team is still gathering data to determine if we should do another anneal.

There was a discussion about disabling eclipse-data for fronts only, as SSR level has not been emptying out due to solar activity.

Spacecraft Management

Decimation Normal/Vigorous
