Solar Activity

The activity has been low throughout the week, mostly at B-level. There are currently 5 ARs on disk and 3 of them are expected to rotate off the disk in the next day or so.

How many GOES flares occurred?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 25 13 0 0

And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 12 8 0 0

And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 11 5 0 0

There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 90 / 38 over the time range 10-May-16 17-May-16

There are issues with the process creating the RHESSI flare list for this week, and these issues will persist until the detector situation is stable, so the RHESSI flare count is an overestimate.

Memory Management

Decimation was active/vigorous for the full time period. The SSR is empty after each day's passes, and is at 0.4% currently (2016-05-17 22:40).

Spacecraft Status

Detectors 1, 3, 8 and 9 are powered on, and are recording events. The cold plates, 1 and 2 are at 136.0 and 134.7 K, respectively (They were 134.6 and 133.2 K last week).

Data Gaps

No significant (>300 sec) data gap.

Detector issues

Detectors 1, 3, 8 and 9 are powered on, and are recording events. No excess large numbers of resets or fast or slow rates at present. Detector 2 was also powered up during the week, but did not segment at 5000V, so were turned off. Detector 4 is being turned on again today to see the thermal impact and to obtain more flare spectra to evaluate the low-energy performance (The D4 HV will reach 4000V at 11:50am, during the Ops meeting).

Attenuator Thresholds

    Min A1 0x07 2.74 %
    Max A1 0x15 8.24 %
    Min A2 0x05 1.96 %
    Max A2 0x29 16.08 %
    Min A3 0x09 3.53 %
    Max A3 0xFF 100.00 %
