Solar Activity

Two new active regions (12627, 12628) developed and are currently roughly speaking in the center of the solar disk.

On January 21, three C-flares occurred with good RHESSI coverage.

The hsi_tohban_flare_counter is currently not working because the quicklook data processing doesn't recognize the flares.

Memory Management

Decimation was normal/vigorous for the full time period, with the SSR at about 0% at the end of each day's BGS contacts.

Spacecraft Status

On January 19, Detector 8 has been switched off and Detector 1 has been switched on.

Detectors 1 and 3 are recording events.

The Cryocooler power is steady at 75W. The cold tip and cold plate temperatures have come down with the sun fraction running through a maximum on January 21. The cold tips are currently at about 124 and 126K, and the cold plates are at about 147 and 148K. For details see:

The Attenuators logic has been re-enabled on January 23 because of increasing probability of flares around 50% for C-flares, 10% for M-flares and non-zero for X-flares.) Det 3 is used for the attenuator logic and the thresholds have been set to corresponding to a deadtime of 9%. The current deadtime Det.3 is about 5%. However, it's expected that the deadtime will slightly increase with decreasing sun fraction and rising detector temperatures.

Data Gaps
