Solar Activity

The Sun was pretty active this week with X, M and C class flares. Currently there are five active regions on disk and the current GOES level is at high C. to be at moderate to high levels over the next three days (06-08 Sep), mostly due to the flare potential and recent history of Region 2673.

How many GOES flares occurred?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 31 28 12 0

And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 14 13 7 0

And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were 9 8 2 0

There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 119 / 71 over the time range 30-Aug-17 06-Sep-17

The X-class flares are not reported as the data is not on the ground.

Memory Management

The SSR reached a maximum of ~70 percent and a minimum of ~30% during the week.

Spacecraft Status

Detectors 1, 3, 6 and 8 are active and taking data.

The cold plate 1 and 2 temperatures are ~156.5K and 154.8K.

Currently the Cryocooler power is ~75.3 W and the acceleration is at ~11mg

Data Gaps

No data gaps this week.

= Detector issues

Other notes

The attenuator logic threshold was changed on 2017-248-18:48:33 UTC.

The new thresholds are as follows:

  0.00 Min A0
 23.14 Max A0 <- thin in
 19.60 Min A1 <- thin out
 25.10 Max A1 <- thick in
 18.82 Min A2
 32.94 Max A2
 20.39 Min A3 <- thick out
 100.0 Max A3
