We are still investigating the effect we are reporting on in this Nugget, and it grows more interesting by the day. It in fact turns out that for the flare of 6th November 2004, the modulation we've showed is much larger in detector 5 than in any of detectors 1-4 or 6, even though they all possess the same field of view of around 1 degree. It looks like the field of view explanation we provided is not the whole story.

In fact, I checked this out for a similar flare from 13th December 2006 and found the same thing; this nutation effect is very small for most detectors but anomalously large in detector 5. I'm reliably informed that the grids of detector 5 are not well aligned with the spin axis or the other detector grids, which may explain this issue - but we're still working to understand it!
