Solar Activity

There are currently eight active regions on disk. Flare activity this week was very low, dominated by B class flares and only 3 C class flares. On 9 May 2010 at 20:59UT a C5.4 was observed at the East solar limb. This flare was correlated with a strong interplanetary type II event. STEREO B shows no further ARs rotating onto the disk within the next few days.

Memory Management

The SSR is emptying at the end of each pass. We remain in normal/active decimation mode. The maximum fill level this week was about 22%.

Spacecraft Status

Due to magnetic anomalies RHESSI entered idle mode and began to drift off sun pointing several times during the week. A spin-up was made on 11-May-2011 at ~17:50 local time.
