FUV Observations : LBH, 135.6 and 120.0-nm emissions.

IMAGE was in an ideal position to observe effects of the solar flare at Earth. IMAGE apogee occurred around 1200 UT
as can be seen in the plot of the orbit obtained from the SPOF.

The effect at Earth was to immediately cause an increase in FUV dayglow brightness. The
movie below shows images from FUV-WIC and SI, which image primarily N2-LBH and
OI-135.6-nm emissions, respectively. The x-rays from GOES-10 are shown for reference.

The enhancements in FUV brightness can be seen by eye, as the variation in both images is upward of 40%

The X-Rays are reported by GOES-10 with a 1 minute cadence, which compares nicely to the two minute cadence
from IMAGE.
