FAST Conjugate Aircraft Observations
Aircraft Data Summary (January 30)

January 30, 1998 Aircraft Data Summary

       Orbit: 5700
       Conjunction: 08:50:11
       Aircraft Position: 71.36 N 159.99 W
       Direction of flight: North
Auroral Condition: This night was a very active auroral night.
There were two discrete arcs to the north
and to the southwest and one thick arc
overhead. Black aurora was recorded almost a
minute before and a minute after conjunction
with FAST. Curling in small arcs were seen with
                          lots of motion.

ASC: arc to the north and to the southwest with wide arc
                        in middle
AFT: thin feature folded amongst aurora
