| The NASA Student Involvement Program provides opportunities for students and teachers to design and build experiments that will fly in either a sub-orbital rocket or in a module in the cargo bay of the space shuttle. | |
| Each year, teams of students are invited to submit proposals for flight through the NSIP Flight Opportunities competition website. | |
