came from the
SOHO LASCO
coronagraph
team who
announced
occurrence of
a white light
halo in images
obtained on 6
Jan 97. The
figure at right
shows a
snapshot of the
LASCO
coronagraph
halo, enhanced
by differencing
sequential
images. An
image from the
SOHO MDI is
superposed to
show the state
of the solar
magnetic field
on that day.
