Astro-H, the new Japanese X-ray Astronomy Satellite following Suzaku, is an international X-ray mission currently slated for launch in 2013. Astro-H will carry the next generation high-resolution microcalorimeter X-ray spectrometer, known as the Soft X-ray Spectrometer (SXS), a hard X-ray imaging system, a soft X-ray imaging system, and a soft Gamma-ray detector. Prior to launch, some of the calibration work for the SXS will be completed in part by LLNL scientists. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
