Solar Activity

Some activity, many c flares, and a relatively high (close to C) GOES background, so things may be picking up.

How many GOES flares occurred?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were     12    24     0     0

And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were      7    16     0     0

And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were      6    13     0     0

There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 163 / 36 over the time range 13-Dec-11 20-Dec-11

Decimation was normal/vigorous for the full week.

Data Gaps

Noisy vc1 data from ~1840 to ~1910 on 2011-12-20, two short vc3 gaps also on the 20th: 2011-12-20T14:10:00.000 -- 2011-12-20T16:45:00.000 2011-12-20T19:00:00.000 -- 2011-12-20T19:25:00.000


NOISE

Some D8 noise on 2011-12-15 09:30 to 13:00, also 2011-12-16 08:00 to 09:00, 2011-12-20 05:00 to 06:00. Some smaller spikes for D5 and 6.


Anomaly

Unusual activity in cryocooler on 2011-12-15, 2011-12-16.

It is not clear what happened; speculation is centering on a possible failed capacitor. A slight rise in cooler efficiency has been noted, returning it back to pre-2011 level.
