Accommodations

UC Berkeley has made very cost-effective accommodations available. A total of 100 rooms, most of which are designed for single occupancy have been reserved for the ASOS attendees. Couples/Double occupancy housing is also available. The rooms are located on 2650 Durant Avenue in Unit I, an easy walk to the Berkeley City Club (see map below). In addition, the poster session will be held at the Unit I facility. Rooms are typical university dormitories, but are fully furnished, clean, and comfortable. They are equipped with telephones and free internet. Please note that you will share community bath facilities, but these have been upgraded to provide a high level of privacy. The package rate for 5 nights (Aug 3 - Aug 8), including breakfast and lunch, for single occupancy will cost $427 ($312/person double occupancy). This rate includes all applicable fees and taxes. In conjunction with your room, the university makes parking available for $14/day in parking structure across the street. There are limited number of rooms available in the Berkeley City Club at a special conference rate of $115/night on weekdays and $145/night on Friday and Saturday (plus state and local taxes). The rate includes breakfast. To reserve a room please call (510) 848-7800 and mention that you are part of the ASOS10 conference (Group number 003133) or email them at reservations(at)berkeleycityclub.com. Please note that the Berkeley City Club does not provide televisions in the rooms. Complimentary WiFi in the room is available. Check-in time is 2 pm; check-out time is 11 am. Parking is provided at an adjoining lot at a rate of $12/night.

Additionally, there are still rooms available at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza, which is located within easy walking distance (five blocks or 0.5 km) from the conference venue. The rate is $112/night (plus state and local taxes). To reserve a room please call (510) 845-7300 or (866) 466-9199 and request the ASOS10 conference rate. Alternatively use the Hotel's ASOS10 reservations page (As of 1/14/10 there is a glitch with checkout on 8/8/10, but the other days seem to work. Do not be discouraged by this. Please call the hotel to make reservations.). The Hotel Shattuck Plaza is located next to the subway entrance, i.e., the Downtown Berkeley BART station. This makes the Hotel Shattuck Plaza very easy to reach from both the San Francisco and the Oakland airports, both of which are connected to BART. For directions, please click here.
